Hey eveyone,
Just finished my seat project and I gotta tell ya, if you've got the patience to do a seat mod, plus the money to get it re-covered, it's worth it. If anyone is interested in a pic of the new seat and how I did it, e-mail me and I'll send you one. It looks like a fatboy seat on a Savage - and it rides great with no pain in the rear. Also, I have my old seat, from my 2001 Savage, for sale for a steal at $50 plus shipping if anyone's interested (that's both front and rear).
